About Me
Growing up, I was obsessed with LEGOs. Every day, after school, I would come home, race through all of my homework assignments, and then play with LEGOs the entire rest of the day. It would not be an uncommon sight to see my parents traverse through a sea of LEGOs and pry me from a current adventure just so we could all have dinner or go to bed. Who could blame me, though! The ability to construct and deconstruct practically whatever I wanted unlocked a universe of creative possibilities. For me, a new playset or figurine meant a new chapter in the journey for my characters. So, naturally, when my brother showed me Minecraft for the first time, I was enamored. A video game version of LEGOs? Sign me up! However, this discovery of Minecraft would be later overshadowed by the simultaneous discovery of something else: YouTube.
I loved watching Minecraft. My brother introduced me to BlueXephos (familiarly known as The Yogscast) at the same time as Minecraft. I was enthralled by Simon and Lewis' many adventures of exploring the world, building "The YogsCave", and the overall evolution of the Shadow of Israphel universe. Soon, I discovered more people playing Minecraft on YouTube, and from there, a new age dawned for me. I would spend my days watching YouTube videos almost as much as I would play with LEGOs. I enjoyed it so much that I tried to make my own videos. On weekends, I would wake up really early, way before anyone else, to script, record, edit, and upload myself playing games like Pokémon Emerald or Minecraft. While my videos got little to no views, I felt ecstatic about their existence in the world and immense pride in the quality of work I put into them. What struck me about YouTube was that anybody, no matter who you were, could contribute and upload their own videos, regardless of experience or gear. Where movies and TV felt like impossible feats achieved by the lucky few, YouTube felt like creations of the every man. And, I adored it.
While I was never actually interested in becoming a full-time YouTuber, my interest in the process, more specifically, the editing of the videos grew bigger and bigger. In a way, editing was like LEGOs for me again. With the raw building blocks of footage and audio, I could create videos in whatever way I wanted, into whatever stories I wanted. This interest would only continue to burn, and in 2023, I would graduate from university with a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Media Production with an emphasis on editing and sound design.
Using all I have learned from university and the hundreds of projects I have worked on to this point, I have now made it my goal to help others with their creative work. I want to edit videos and films with others that can hopefully inspire audiences to go out, create, and make a positive change for themselves and others around them. I believe we all have stories to tell, but naturally, it can be hard to do it or even figure out where to start. That's where I want to come in. I want to help the filmmakers, the YouTubers, the creatives do their work and tell their stories.
I want to help creatives stay creative.
